Livingston overcome Alloa Athletic to win the Scottish Challenge Cup

Livingston have beaten Alloa Athletic 4-0 to lift the Scottish Challenge Cup, after goals from Scott Pittman, Callum Fordyce and a double from Jordan White saw the Lions triumph at McDiarmid Park.

Pittman gave the Scottish Championship side a first-half lead after some neat wing play from Myles Hippolyte saw the striker finish simply past Craig McDowall in the Alloa net.

Defender Fordyce doubled the lead for Livingston a quarter of an hour after the restart, as he prodded home the ball from a messy corner.

Kevin Cawley had the chance to get Alloa back into the game with some smart control and an angled volley, only for Darren Jamieson to match the effort with a fine save.

Alloa then hit the post from the resulting corner, while Livingstone quickly broke and Hippolyte squandered a chance to make it three at the other end.

Substitute Isaac Layne saw one of his efforts hit the bar from 25 yards out, the closest Alloa came to getting a goal back.

Livingston hit the post after some more neat wing play from man-of-the-match Hippolyte, with Keaghan Jacobs's deflected effort meeting the woodwork.

The Lions did get their third and fourth goals late on, which wrapped up the game as a brace from White sealed the victory and Livingston's first piece of silverware this season.
