Sylvain Ripoll has insisted that he has no plans to change Lorient's philosophy ahead of his first Ligue 1 campaign as manager of the club.
The 42-year-old operated as Christian Gourcuff's assistant before making the step up after his predecessor became Algeria's new manager earlier this summer, and he doesn't expect to be making big changes to the team's style this season.
"It would be a bad idea to change the philosophy because it's worked so well in the past and it represents the identity of this club," Ripoll told reporters. "When you start out you can't say you have your own method. I certainly don't - I just have some ideas and things I want to put in place.
"Christian can talk about his coaching method because he's been the job for a long time, but I can't because I'm just starting out."
Lorient start their season against Monaco on Sunday night.
