Gerardo Martino calls for calm

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino plays down suggestions that the Catalan outfit are currently short on confidence.

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino has insisted that the Catalan outfit are still in a strong position despite a recent wobble in the league.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Real Valladolid left Martino's side four points off the pace currently set by Real Madrid in La Liga.

However, they are in a strong position ahead of their last-16 Champions League second leg with Manchester City following a 2-0 victory in the first leg in Manchester.

"The last thing I'd be lacking is strength," he told AS.

"We have positive things we have to play for. I wouldn't write us off in the league, we're in the last 16 of the Champions League and we're in the final of the Copa del Rey.

"If I wasn't calm in this situation, I would honestly think about changing jobs."

Barcelona will contest the final of the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid next month.
