Manuel Pellegrini: 'Manchester City have nine more points to play for'

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini claims that his side can still progress in the Champions League as there are "nine points more to play for".

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has played down talk of his side struggling in the Champions League after playing out a 2-2 draw against CSKA Moscow this evening in Group E.

The Citizens raced into a two-goal lead through Sergio Aguero and James Milner, but the Russian outfit pulled the game back through Seydou Dumbia and Bibras Natkho.

Pellegrini told reporters after the game: "I think maybe we didn't have the pace in the second half, and didn't move the ball as we did in the first half. We didn't have one chance to score and then they scored that penalty.

"Everyone must know that football is for 95 minutes, we are away against a difficult team and they drew the game but I don't think that is just a revelation for the Champions League.

"We have nine points more to play for. After we have played them we will see who has more."

City remain without a win in this season's competition, taking just two points from a possible nine.
