Thomas Tuchel: 'Lionel Messi is very welcome at Paris Saint-Germain'

Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel says that Barcelona's Lionel Messi "is very welcome" at Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel said that Lionel Messi "is very welcome" at the club amid suggestions that the Argentine could leave Barcelona this summer.

Messi is believed to be seriously considering his future with the Catalan giants following a disappointing 2019-20 campaign, which saw them miss out on success in both La Liga and the Champions League.

A number of clubs, including Inter Milan, Manchester City and PSG, have been credited with an interest in the 33-year-old over the last week or so.

When questioned on Messi in the aftermath of Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final, Tuchel revealed that he would love to coach the South American.

However, the PSG boss later claimed that the attacker is likely to finish his career at Camp Nou.

"He is very welcome! Which clubs says no to Messi? We have chosen not to speak about transfers. We will sit together in the next few days and have many things to do improve the squad and keep the level of the players that we missed here. I think Messi finishes his career in Barcelona. He is Barcelona," Tuchel told BT Sport.

As it stands, the four-time Champions League winner will be out of contract next summer.
