Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for their Champions League quarter-final second leg with Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may have to cope without Sergio Aguero for the second leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

The injury-plagued Argentine, who will soon be on the lookout for a new club, played no part in the weekend's defeat to Leeds United due to a knock, and his participation at the Westfalenstadion is up in the air.

However, Guardiola could once again opt to line up without a recognised number nine - especially as Gabriel Jesus played the full 90 at the weekend - meaning another start further forward for Bernardo Silva.

Ferran Torres and Raheem Sterling started out wide against the Whites but are sure to drop out here for Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden, with the English starlet scoring a decisive late winner in last week's first leg.

A complete overhaul in midfield should see Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne - who recently penned a new deal until 2025 - take the places of Fernandinho, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Silva, assuming the latter starts as a false nine.

With Aymeric Laporte also doubtful due to a hip problem, Ruben Dias and John Stones are set to form the centre-back pairing after Nathan Ake was handed a rare Premier League start against Leeds.

Benjamin Mendy has also been enjoying more game time recently, but the Frenchman is expected to drop out as Kyle Walker's return at right-back pushes Joao Cancelo out to the left.

Man City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Silva, Foden
