Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for their crucial Champions League clash away to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

There will likely be a similar look to the Manchester City side that faces Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Manager Pep Guardiola picked a strong team to face Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday, despite this crucial game being just over the horizon, with the champions cruising to a 6-0 win at Portman Road.

Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland all played a central role in that thrashing, giving the three some much needed confidence ahead of a must-not-lose encounter in Europe.

That trio should start in City's attacking four in Paris, with one place on the wing still up for grabs between Jeremy Doku and Savinho, and the former helped his chances of another start by scoring the fourth in that win.

Foden is the man in form at present, with five goals and an assist in his last three Premier League games, and despite having a slow start domestically, he has still shown great form in this competition, with his first three goals of the season all coming in the Champions League.

The main concerns come in defence, with Kyle Walker's desire to leave not helped by the fact Nathan Ake and John Stones have been struck down with injury.

Walker has not been involved since handing in a transfer request, and Matheus Nunes filled in at right-back over the weekend, but Rico Lewis could be the man to start in that hybrid role here.

Ake and Stones are still doubtful, so that means Ruben Dias and Manuel Akanji are set to be the centre-back pairing again like they were at the weekend, with Ederson and Stefan Ortega still battling for the starting spot in goal.

Even if Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov are confirmed as new Man City players before this one, they will not be registered in their Champions League squad until the knockout stage at the earliest, so they will have to make do with domestic action for the time being.

Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Lewis, Ruben Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Bernardo Silva, Kovacic, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Savinho
