Barnsley boss David Flitcroft admits that he got his tactics wrong in the first half of his side's 5-0 defeat to Manchester City this afternoon.

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft has admitted that he got the balance of his side wrong during the first half of their 5-0 loss to Manchester City this afternoon.

The Championship side were well beaten by City courtesy of a Carlos Tevez hat-trick as well as goals from Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva.

Flitcroft conceded that his side were outclassed during the match, but insisted that he will look to learn from the defeat.

"I have a dressing room of players who agreed we came up against world stars. The physicality and desire of their team is incredible," he told ESPN.

"If they are the second best team in the country, I would not want to face Manchester United.

"I got the balance of the team wrong in the first half as I played too many pressers and not enough passers. We will draw what we can from this game."

Menawhile, Barnsley dropped to the bottom of the Championship table this afternoon due to results elsewhere.
