Adam Johnson insists that Manchester City will be "confident" of progressing no matter who they draw in the Carling Cup.

Adam Johnson has claimed that Manchester City are not too worried who they draw in the quarter-final of the Carling Cup on Saturday afternoon.

City advanced through to the final eight of the competition with a 5-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening, a game in which England international Johnson found the net.

After the match, the winger told Sky Sports News that City would be "confident" against whoever they are paired with.

"I think we'll play against anyone with our confidence at the moment," said the 24-year-old.

"Whoever we get, home or away, we're confident we can go through."

City have now scored 11 goals in their previous two matches.
