Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says that the club will treat Vincent Kompany's latest injury - a blow to his head - with care.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has urged caution over Vincent Kompany's latest injury, but hopes that it is nothing serious.

The Belgian centre-back hit his head in a collision with his own goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, in the 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace.

Kompany will be assessed ahead of the Champions League group stage tie against Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.

Guardiola, whose side's victory was secured by two goals from Yaya Toure, told Sky Sports News: "[Kompany] had a problem with his head. [He got] a kick.

"Now we're going to control him. You have to be careful with head injuries. Hopefully it won't be anything serious."

The win left Man City second in the Premier League table, below leaders Liverpool on goals scored.
