Pep Guardiola: 'Manchester City will not get complacent'

Pep Guardiola is adamant that Manchester City will not fall prey to complacency following their record 15th win in a row on Wednesday at Swansea City.

Pep Guardiola has claimed that Manchester City will not fall prey to complacency following a Premier League-record 15th win in a row.

The Citizens won 4-0 away at Swansea City on Wednesday night to overtake Arsenal's 14 consecutive top-flight victories between February and August 2002.

Man City now sit 11 points clear at the top of the table but, amid fears of the players getting ahead of themselves, Guardiola is confident that standards will not drop.

"Considering we have a lot of games in our legs, a demanding game at Old Trafford three days ago, we were solid, we were serious and we made a good performance," the Spaniard told BBC Sport after the game at the Liberty Stadium.

"You suffer and enjoy, like a manager you see many things. When the team play good we are happy. Our feeling - we understand what we want to do. We play good inside, outside.

"[Complacency] is not going to happen. We are so demanding for our players. We can lose, we can drop points but complacency, never happened in the past, the present or the future. Winning 15 games in a row gives us a lot of confidence. If people are happy watching us that is the best gift."

Up next for City is a Premier League home game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
