Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn handed England call-up

Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn - currently on loan at Norwich City - is called up to the England squad to face Brazil on Tuesday night.

England boss Gareth Southgate has decided to call up Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn for Tuesday's friendly with Brazil.

Earlier this week, Stoke City stopper Jack Butland sustained a broken finger during training, leaving Southgate with just Joe Hart and Jordan Pickford at his disposal.

Pickford played the full 90 minutes as England registered a goalless draw with Germany on Friday night, which may indicate that Hart will face Brazil on Tuesday, but Southgate has moved to bring in extra cover between the sticks.

Gunn is yet to make a single first-team appearance for City, but the 21-year-old has played 19 games in all competitions for Championship side Norwich City since the start of the campaign after penning a season-long loan deal.

On Friday night, Gunn featured as England Under-21s recorded a 2-0 win over Ukraine.
