Manchester City opt not to appeal the violent conduct charge handed to Mario Balotelli by the Football Association.

Manchester City have decided not to appeal the violent conduct charge that the Football Association handed to Mario Balotelli.

The Italian striker was charged following an apparent stamp on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker at the weekend.

As a result, the 21-year-old will miss City's next four matches, starting with this evening's Carling Cup semi-final at Liverpool.

He will also miss Premier League fixtures against Everton, Fulham and Aston Villa.
