Dietmar Hamann: Mario Balotelli's career at risk

Mario Balotelli is at risk of ruining his career, according to former Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann.

Former Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann has claimed that Mario Balotelli is at risk of ruining his career due to his behaviour on the pitch.

Balotelli has been charged by the FA for an alleged stamp on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker during the 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Hamann believes that if the Italian continues to cause trouble, his career could be destroyed.

The former German international told The Mirror: "He needs to sort himself out if he wants to have a long career at a top club like Man City because he is in danger of throwing it away.

"He is selfish and lacks respect for his teammates.

"It does not bother me and it has nothing to do with me, but he is putting his career at risk."

Balotelli joined City from Inter Milan in the Summer of 2010.
