Manuel Pellegrini: "I am not worried about Chelsea"

Manuel Pellegrini admits that his side have endured a "difficult week" after dropping further points in the Premier League title race away at Queens Park Rangers.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that his side struggled both physically and mentally during this evening's 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers.

The dropped points, combined with the Blues' 2-1 victory over Liverpool earlier today, ensures that Jose Mourinho's men go into the international break with a hefty lead over the champions in the Premier League title race.

Despite this, Pellegrini insists that he is "not worried" by the eight-point margin, citing the fact that the season is still in its early stages.

The Chilean, who also saw his side drop to the bottom of their Champions League group in the week, told BBC Sport: "I am not worried about Chelsea. They are in a very good moment.

"We will see if they can continue that until the end of the year. We are just thinking about our team and returning to our style of play. It was a very difficult week.

"We didn't have 72 hours to recover physically and mentally from another game but we tried until the last minute to win. We had clear chances but when the ball doesn't want to go in, it is difficult to score."

City return to league action in two weeks' time when they host Swansea City at the Etihad Stadium.
