Manuel Pellegrini: Tottenham Hotspur fixture is "not a decisive game"

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that his side's clash with Tottenham Hotspur is "not a decisive game".

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that the result of Sunday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur will not have a decisive impact on the Premier League title race.

City host Spurs with just one point separating the two sides, with the match taking place just hours after the showdown at the Emirates Stadium between Arsenal and leaders Leicester City.

However, Pellegrini has chosen to look at the bigger picture, suggesting that the title will be won or lost in his team's remaining 12 contests.

The Chilean boss is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It's not a decisive game but a very important game - afterwards we play for another 36 points.

"For our team, it's important to try to return to the top of the table. Two or three teams are in front of us in this moment so we must try to reclaim the points."

City allowed Leicester to open up a six-point margin between the two sides last weekend after the Foxes won 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
