Pep Guardiola refuses to commit his long-term future to Manchester City in the wake of Liverpool's Premier League title win.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has refused to commit himself to the Citizens in the wake of Liverpool's Premier League title win.

City's 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Thursday night handed Liverpool the title, with the Reds set to receive a guard of honour from the 2018-19 champions when they head to the Etihad Stadium next week.

Guardiola's current deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire next summer, and the Spaniard refused to commit his future to the Manchester giants when asked if he was ready to challenge the Merseyside giants in the coming years.

"I'm incredibly excited for this part of the season, and the next one. I am incredibly satisfied to be in this club and to try to do our best," The Mirror quotes Guardiola as saying.

"But I don't want to think too far ahead. Now is not the time. I just think about today. We have a tough game away against Newcastle in the FA Cup and we have to be focused."

As it stands, City are banned from the Champions League for the next two seasons due to alleged Financial Fair Play breaches, although the club have appealed the decision.
