Jack Rodwell expresses his happiness at becoming a Manchester City player.

Jack Rodwell has described his move to Manchester as "a dream come true".

The England international completed his switch to the Premier League champions from Everton for a reported £12m fee yesterday evening.

Having signed on the dotted line, the 21-year-old has admitted that he cannot wait to get his City career started.

"Manchester City are a massive club, the league champions, so it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's a dream come true," he told the club's official website.

"It will be an amazing experience to make my debut in front of the [Manchester City supporters] if I am selected to play next weekend.

"Obviously I knew the squad is immense with talent here but I believe in my ability. I've just got to work my way into the manager's plans and hopefully things will go well."

City's first game of the Premier League season is against Southampton next Sunday.
