Manchester City are reportedly set to offer club legend Sergio Aguero a role as an ambassador, following his retirement from football.

The 33-year-old decided to hang up his boots in December due to a cardiac arrhythmia diagnosis, less than five months after signing for Barcelona over the summer.

Prior to his switch to Camp Nou, Aguero spent 10 trophy-laden years with Man City and scored 260 goals in 390 games, making him the club's all-time record goalscorer.

According to the Daily Mail, Aguero is set to be offered an ambassadorial role at the club, alongside the likes of Mike Summerbee, Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott.

A statue of the legendary striker is also set to be unveiled outside the Etihad Stadium later this year, accompanying those already created for David Silva and Vincent Kompany.

Aguero, who won the Copa America with Argentina over the summer, is currently in his native South America on holiday.
