Preview: Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole previews the first Manchester derby of the season at the Etihad Stadium.

The first Manchester derby of the season will take place on Sunday afternoon when Manchester City and Manchester United meet at the Etihad Stadium.

The city rivals have made identical starts to the campaign under new managers Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes, with both picking up seven points from four games.

City come into the match off the back of a 3-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday evening.

Moyes also saw his United side pick up a Champions League victory in midweek, as Bayer Leverkusen were beaten 4-2 at Old Trafford thanks to a brace from Wayne Rooney.

City defenders Gael Clichy, Micah Richards and Martin Demichelis are out injured, so captain Vincent Kompany could make his first Premier League start of the season.

Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero could continue their partnership in attack.

Moyes may decide to make changes to the United side that beat Leverkusen, with Nani available after his European suspension and Ashley Young pushing to start.

Phil Jones and Rafael will miss the match so Chris Smalling is expected retain his place at right-back.
