Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may only have one fit centre-back available for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Ruben Dias was forced off at half time with another hamstring problem against Newcastle United and is confirmed to be missing the rest of the season alongside Kyle Walker and John Stones.

Furthermore, Nathan Ake has emerged as a doubt due to an ankle problem, so Guardiola has a big decision to make as Aymeric Laporte waits to learn his new partner.

Fernandinho filled in at the back against Newcastle and will likely do so from the first whistle here, with CJ Egan-Riley and Luke Mbete waiting on the bench should Guardiola's defensive crisis worsen.

Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko's spots in the wide areas are safe, while Rodri and Fernandinho could potentially swap roles if the latter is preferred in the engine room during the game.

Bernardo Silva was an unused substitute at the weekend but ought to come back in for Ilkay Gundogan here, as Kevin De Bruyne continues following another playmaking masterclass against Newcastle.

Raheem Sterling will not want to be dropped after his brace at the weekend, so the returning Riyad Mahrez could instead demote Jack Grealish to the bench this week.

Phil Foden's goal as a substitute last time out has also given Guardiola food for thought, but the in-form Gabriel Jesus may still be preferred at the tip of the attack.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Cancelo, Fernandinho, Laporte, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling
