A report claims that Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is due to travel to Italy for a medical with AC Milan.

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli will reportedly undergo a medical with AC Milan over the next 24 hours.

The Italian international has long been linked with the Red and Blacks, who have made it known that they are keen to sign a striker before Thursday's 11pm transfer deadline.

Earlier today speculation had claimed that Balotelli had thrown a goodbye party with his teammates after an agreement had been reached with Milan.

Now the 22-year-old will travel to Italy for discussions over personal terms and a series of medical tests, according to Goal.com.

The report has also claimed that City will want £22m for the former Inter Milan frontman.

Despite the rumours, City's assistant manager David Platt told reporters this morning that he did not expect Balotelli to depart the Etihad Stadium.
