Manchester City have launched a surprise £17m bid for Monaco left back Layvin Kurzama, according to reports.
The Daily Star claims that the 22-year-old flew to Manchester last Tuesday to speak with representatives of the club about a possible move.
Kurzawa did not attend the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich in person as City were looking to keep any transfer a secret from potential rivals for his signature.
However, the Premier League champions could face competition from Manchester United and Chelsea for the defender.
Meanwhile, City may let go of incumbent left back Aleksandar Kolarov, who has emerged as a possible target for former boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.
