Javi Garcia says that Manchester City are "the biggest club in England" and is looking forward to enjoying the "whole spectacle" of the Premier League.

Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia has described Manchester City as "the biggest club in England".

Garcia completed a £16m move from Benfica to the Premier League champions on transfer deadline day and was one of five new players that manager Roberto Mancini signed that day.

"Without a doubt I'm at the biggest club in England and one of the biggest in Europe currently," said the 25-year-old. "So I'm very proud but also aware I'm joining a great side full of top players.

"They have given me a fantastic opportunity, bringing me into a really great team which will be fighting on all fronts to win trophies. What the fans will get is that desire and bravery I try to put in every game I play."

Garcia is relishing the chance to play in the Premier League and hopes to "enjoy the whole spectacle".

"I'm really excited because I know that the grounds are always full to capacity and the fans really love their football, supporting their teams in a sportsmanlike way, compared to some other places," he said.

"I can't wait for my first game to come around so I can enjoy the whole spectacle just as soon as possible."

City are currently fourth in the Premier League table with seven points from three matches.
