Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will make an attempt to bring Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to the Etihad Stadium this summer, according to a report.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will reportedly make an attempt to bring Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Iniesta remains a key figure at Barcelona, with the 33-year-old making 30 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions this season.

The midfielder signed a 'lifetime contract' with the Catalan giants in October, but it has been suggested that the Spain international could have a limited role at the club next term.

According to The Mirror, Guardiola, who still has a close relationship with Iniesta following their time together at Camp Nou, will make an audacious move to bring the playmaker to the Premier League.

Iniesta has been a first-team regular at Barcelona since 2002, and has won eight La Liga titles, five Copas del Rey and four Champions Leagues during a distinguished career.
