Thomas Partey - linked with Manchester City - has a release clause of £43m in his Atletico Madrid contract, according to a report.

Midfielder Thomas Partey reportedly has a release clause of £43m in his Atletico Madrid contract.

Thomas has been with Atletico since 2012, representing the club's B team between 2013 and 2015 before stepping into the senior side.

The 25-year-old has made 131 appearances for the Madrid giants in all competitions, scoring 11 times and providing 10 assists.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Manchester City were interested in signing the Ghana international, who has contributed two goals and three assists in 24 La Liga appearances this term.

According to Marca, Thomas has a release clause of £43m in his current Atletico deal, which is expected to spark a host of interest in this summer's transfer window.

City are currently searching for a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
