Manuel Pellegrini quiet on Yaya Toure's Manchester City future

Manuel Pellegrini remains quiet on Yaya Toure's Manchester City future.

Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has played down reports linking Yaya Toure with a summer exit by claiming that the midfielder is focused on the remaining games of the season.

The Ivorian's agent Dimitri Seluk claimed earlier this month that his client will "definitely" leave the two-time Premier League champions.

In a more recent interview, Toure's representative suggested that the midfielder may consider staying put if he is offered a new contract.

When asked about the 32-year-old's future in a press conference previewing Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg, Pellegrini, who will be replaced with Pep Guardiola at the end of the season, told reporters: "He is focused on these games that we must finish this season. At the end of the season he will see his future.

"For the moment he is just thinking about the game we play tomorrow and the six more games that we have to play in the Premier League, and we hope to continue in the Champions League to the end."

Toure joined City in 2010 after being sold by Guardiola at Barcelona.
