Manchester City could face competition for the signature of Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi this summer.
The English club were believed to have tracked De Rossi last year, but were unable to agree a fee with their Italian counterparts, who managed to keep hold of their player.
However, reports have suggested that should Roberto Mancini keep his job at the Etihad Stadium, he will try to tempt Roma into parting with the 29-year-old.
City may lose out to either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, though, according to Italian TV channel Mediaset.
The European duo are said to have identified the Italian international as the ideal candidate to boost their midfield options.
