Manchester City have reportedly held talks with Brazilian side Coritiba regarding teenage left-back Abner.
The 17-year-old, who has been likened to former Real Madrid and Selecao star Roberto Carlos, is also believed to be of interest to Benfica.
According to Goal.com, Coritiba director Felipe Ximenes is thought to have travelled to England to discuss the potential transfer.
Reports in Brazil claim that Benfica are willing to offer €5m (£4.3m), but the Citizens remain at the front of the queue.
