Report: Manchester City told to pay £40m for Yacine Brahimi

Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi will cost Manchester City £40m if they wish to sign him at the end of the season, according to reports.

Manchester City have reportedly been told that they must pay £40m if they wish to land attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi from Porto in the summer.

The 25-year-old is expected to leave the Primeira Liga outfit at the end of the season, with an array of teams linked with his signature.

Since joining Porto from Granada last year, Brahimi has gone on to have a big impact at Estadio do Dragao by scoring eight goals in 20 appearances, including a hat-trick against BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

According to Portuguese publication A Bola, the Alegria international has strongly attracted the interest of Man City, although they are said to only be willing to stump up £33m for the star performer.

Brahimi has recently returned from Africa Cup of Nations duty, where he failed to get off the mark as Algeria crashed out to the Ivory Coast at the quarter-final stage.
