Petr Cech takes positives from defeat

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech insists that the club will be focused for Sunday's clash with Manchester United.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes that Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk could not have come at a better time.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 by the impressive Ukrainian outfit in Donetsk, but Cech has insisted that they will regain focus for Sunday's clash with Manchester United.

"If you take it in perspective, it is good that this happened now because Manchester United is a similar team, who play on the counter-attack away from home," Cech told reporters.

"We will play more or less the same kind of side as Shakhtar. So, hopefully, this will serve as a lesson for the weekend."

Chelsea top the Premier League by four points ahead of second-placed Manchester United.
