Darren Fletcher determined to reach Champions League knockout rounds quickly

Darren Fletcher urges Manchester United to secure their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League following their group phase exit last season.

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has hailed the importance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League swiftly.

The former Premier League champions were unable to come through the group phase last season but Fletcher is confident that the Red Devils will secure their place following a 3-2 win over Braga last night.

"One more victory should see us through and hopefully we can do it in the next game in Braga with two games to spare," Fletcher told MUTV. "After last year the aim was to get ourselves through the group as quickly as possible."

United currently sit at the top of their group after claiming three wins out of three.
