Ruben Dias dominates Premier League Defender of the Season voting

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias cruises to the Premier League Defender of the Season award in the Sports Mole Reader Awards, earning more than half of the votes.

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has been named the Premier League Defender of the Season in the annual Sports Mole Reader Awards.

The 24-year-old joined Man City last summer and has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Premier League, helping the club to the Premier League title.

Dias was named the FWA Footballer of the Year for his performances, and he dominated the Defender of the Season award too with more than half of your votes.

The Portuguese centre-back earned 54.4% of the votes, some way clear of Manchester United's Luke Shaw and Thiago Silva of Chelsea, who earned 15.8% each.
