Manchester City midfielder James Milner insists that the club will bounce back from this season's disappointment.

Manchester City midfielder James Milner has admitted that the club have been 'hurt' by Manchester United's title success this season.

United regained the league title with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday, but the England international has insisted that the former champions will return stronger.

"It hurts. Well done to Manchester United, they're obviously a strong team and the league doesn't lie, so they deserve the league," he told Sky Sports News.

"We're massively disappointed, but it fuels the fire for next season and we're desperate to go again next season to try and win it back. Hopefully we can finish this season with silverware."

City face Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final next month.
