Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has said that Edinson Cavani could make his return from injury in Saturday's Premier League clash with Norwich City.
The Uruguay international has been absent since the start of November due to a tendon issue, missing the team's last seven matches in all competitions.
However, Rangnick has revealed that the experienced striker has stepped up his recovery in recent days and could be involved in the clash with the Canaries at Carrow Road.
"Tomorrow's game, the only possible candidate might be Edi. We have to wait and see. He was training with the team yesterday and a couple of days before that so we have to wait and see how he feels today," Rangnick told MUTV.
The 34-year-old - out of contract at Old Trafford next June - has scored once in eight appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2021-22 campaign.
There were suggestions that Raphael Varane could also be involved against Norwich, but Rangnick has ruled the France international out of contention.
