Michael Owen insists that Manchester United will not be taking Aldershot Town lightly this evening.

Manchester United striker Michael Owen has warned his teammates that they will not be able to take Aldershot Town lightly.

The League Two Shots welcome the Premier League champions for a Carling Cup fixture this evening with the odds firmly stacked against them.

However, Owen, who is expected to start for the Red Devils this evening, believes that the home side will be "right up for it".

"Looking forward to tonights game," the 31-year-old wrote on Twitter. "I'm sure Aldershot will be right up for it so we will have to be mentally ready."

Owen scored two goals in the previous round against Leeds United.
