David Beckham has been chosen to represent Great Britain at the Olympics, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that the LA Galaxy star will be included among Stuart Pearce's Team GB squad for the tournament.
Beckham has allegedly made the 35-man shortlist for the finals, and is said to be a certainty for the 18-man squad due to be submitted to FIFA by July 6.
The former Manchester United midfielder has made no secret of his desire to play in the competition, but critics have claimed that he is in the frame because of his celebrity status.
Pearce has the option to select three players over the age of 23 for the Olympics, and is due to turn in his shortlist tomorrow (June 8).
