Paul Lambert hopes that Gabriel Agbonlahor will recover from a hip complaint to play against Manchester United.

Aston Villa may have Gabriel Agbonlahor available for selection for next Monday's trip to Manchester United.

The striker has a hip injury that forced him to sit out Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Fulham.

However, manager Paul Lambert has admitted that he is hopeful that 26-year-old will shake off the complaint in time for the Premier League match at Old Trafford.

"We lost Gabby, which was a blow to us. It was too early for him, but he's doing really well. Hopefully he will be back for the next game," said Lambert.

Agbonlahor has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season.
