Massimiliano Allegri responds to Manchester United rumours

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri plays down suggestions that he is ready to take charge of Manchester United.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has played down suggestions that he is ready to take charge of Manchester United at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently United's interim boss following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, but it is understood that the Red Devils will appoint a new long-term manager at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino has been strongly linked with the position, although Allegri is also believed to be under consideration and was said to be ready to take the role.

The Italian, however, has denied claims that his time in Turin is coming to an end.

"I still have a year-and-a-half on my contract," Allegri told reporters. "I'm fine here and we're doing important things. Now we are in December and it's better to wait. From here to June there are many games."

Allegri has won domestic doubles in each of his four years in charge of Juventus.
