Manchester United midfielder Anderson has conceded that he still needs to lose some weight before the start of the new Premier League season.
The 25-year-old has suffered a number of injuries since he arrived at Old Trafford in 2007 and upon his return from those setbacks, he has often been ridiculed for the shape that he is in.
However, having taken a full part in pre-season training under new manager David Moyes, the Brazilian has admitted that while he still needs to drop "two more kilos", he is close to full fitness.
"Training is hard under David Moyes but that's good for me. I need to train hard. I need to run and I'm feeling good, with power in my legs. I need to get fit and lose weight. I need to lose two more kilos to be at my best weight," he told the Manchester Evening News.
Anderson has recently been linked with a move back to his native Brazil.
