Real Madrid's Gareth Bale backs Romelu Lukaku to succeed at Manchester United

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale believes that Romelu Lukaku will have a "great season" for Manchester United.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has claimed that Romelu Lukaku will be a success at Manchester United.

The Belgian international joined the Red Devils earlier this month from Everton in a £75m deal that could reportedly rise to £90m with add-ons.

Bale, who has been linked to United numerous times in the past, shared a few words with Lukaku after the final whistle of the Red Devils' pre-season 2-1 penalty shootout victory in Santa Clara on Sunday.

"I just wished him good luck for the season. He has just signed for them and I hope he has a great season," the Daily Mail quotes Bale as saying.

"I'm sure he knows all about the spotlight [from his time at Chelsea and Everton]. He has been playing for long enough now. He has done very well in the Premier League and I am sure he will do great for them."

Lukaku scored 25 Premier League goals for Everton last season.
