Michael Carrick: 'Letting lead slip against Fulham was criminal'

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick says that letting their 2-1 lead slip against Fulham on Sunday was "criminal".

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has admitted that the reigning Premier League champions continue to suffer "setback after setback".

The North-West outfit have now dropped 18 points this season following Sunday's 2-2 draw with Fulham.

Carrick managed to put the Red Devils into a 2-1 lead in the second half after coming from a goal behind, but Darren Bent grabbed a point for his struggling side with a header in added time.

"Letting it slip like that is criminal," Carrick told MUTV. "It's a tough one to take, it's hard to explain how we've only come away with a point. It was an incredible game, so one-sided.

"It's one of those seasons, setback after setback, and we have just got to pick ourselves up. We have to believe that with performances, things are going to change."

United, who launched 81 crosses into the box during the match at Old Trafford, will take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
