Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says that he feels 'proud' whenever he represents the Premier League champions.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has admitted that he feels 'proud' every time he wears the Red Devils shirt.

The Spaniard, who has had his critics since moving to Old Trafford in 2011, had previously been linked with a move away from the club, but rumours have since quietened following an impressive season.

"Playing for United, one of the greatest clubs in the world, is always a source of pride to me," De Gea told the club's official website. "Every time I pull the shirt on, I'm pulling on the history of this club."

De Gea will begin the new campaign under the leadership of David Moyes, who has replaced Sir Alex Ferguson following the 71-year-old's decision to retire after a glittering 26-year career.
