Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is shocked to discover that Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has been sacked.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has expressed his shock at the news that Chelsea have parted company with manager Roberto Di Matteo.

The 42-year-old lost his job from Stamford Bridge this morning following last night's 3-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League.

Ferdinand tweeted: "Wow, Chelsea have sacked their manager!! I'm a bit late I know but its a madness."

Meanwhile, former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has become the bookies' favourite to take the job on an interim basis.
