Rio Ferdinand praises Manchester United fans

Rio Ferdinand pays tribute to the Manchester United supporters that attended their side's match at Chelsea.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on the supporters that made the trip to Stamford Bridge earlier today.

Javier Hernandez scored 15 minutes from time to give the visiting Red Devils all three points at the expense of Chelsea, who were reduced to nine men after Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres were handed their marching orders.

Writing on Twitter after the match, centre-back Ferdinand expressed his delight at being part of the team that collected all three points against a title rival.

"Great win that, our away support were once again quality! Big game big result!! Well deserved," he wrote.

United are second in the Premier League table, one point behind the Blues.
