Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire expresses his pride at being named captain of the club just months after his arrival.

Harry Maguire has spoken of his pride at being named Manchester United captain.

The 27-year-old inherited the armband from Inter Milan-bound Ashley Young in January, just months after joining from Leicester City in a world-record move for a defender.

Maguire lost his first two matches after being named the captain, but is since unbeaten in 11 games, winning eight of those.

"It's a great honour to be the captain of this great club. I've not really felt any different or acted any different," the England international told Inside United.

"I see myself as quite a presence on the pitch and quite vocal around the lads. We're a young group and we need experience and we have the likes of Victor [Lindelof], David [De Gea] and Juan [Mata], who are really experienced around the dressing room.

"We need to help these young boys develop and make sure we develop into a top team and go and start challenging for big trophies."

Maguire has been an ever-present for United in the Premier League this season and has made 41 appearances across all competitions.
