Frank Lampard declares his desire to play football for many more seasons, emulating the longevity of Ryan Giggs.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has said that he wants to follow Ryan Giggs's lead and play on for as long as possible.

Lampard, who will be 35 in June, became Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer by netting a match-winning brace against Aston Villa yesterday, but his contract expires this summer when a decision will be made on his future.

Whether he stays or leaves, the England international wants to continue playing and emulate the likes of Giggs and Paul Scholes of Manchester United.

"I'd love to carry on as long as I feel I can do and I feel I'm fit," he told Press Association Sport.

"I'd love to do that, for another three or four years. I'd love to emulate those boys.

"Ryan Giggs [has] got an aura around him. All the players at the club look up to him. He's the mark."

Lampard's goals guaranteed Chelsea a place in next year's Champions League and now the Blues' eyes will be focused on Wednesday's Europa League final against Benfica in Amsterdam.
