Anders Lindegaard says that he is determined to become first-choice goalkeeper at Manchester United.

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has insisted that he will try to knock David de Gea off the top spot and become Sir Alex Ferguson's first choice at Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old has slipped behind the Spaniard, who has had his critics throughout the campaign, but was widely praised following his display in United's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League last week.

"I certainly feel that my time here has been a success," Lindegaard told Jyllands-Posten. "I joined as a small fish in a big pond, and you have to be very strong not to get lost in that environment.

"I've had spells where I've been first-choice goalkeeper, which far exceeded my expectations, but that does not mean I am satisfied.

"Personally, I feel that I still haven't achieved my dream at United. I want to be a regular in the team, playing every time and delivering in the big games. That's my objective and I've only partially fulfilled that."

Recent reports have claimed that United are willing to sell Lindegaard in order to bring Stoke City's Asmir Begovic to the club.
