Louis van Gaal: 'Pressure is lowering'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that results will begin to improve for his side as the pressure on them lessens.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that he is confident of seeing an improvement in his side's results as the pressure on them lowers.

The Dutchman has faced intense scrutiny over his future in recent weeks following an eight-match winless streak, but that came to an end on Saturday as Wayne Rooney secured a 2-1 victory over Swansea City.

Van Gaal is confident that the win will prove to be a platform for his side to build on as they look to climb back into the top four of the Premier League.

"I shall think that now the pressure is lowering, the performance shall be better every week," he told reporters.

"But that it also dependent on whether or not we score goals. And when we score goals and we create always chances."

United now sit fifth in the Premier League table, three points off the Champions League places.
