Jose Mourinho stresses that he holds no grudges against his former club as his Manchester United side prepares to host Chelsea in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho has stressed that he holds no grudges against his former club as Manchester United prepare to host Chelsea.

A win for the Red Devils against Mourinho's former employers would move them back into second spot in the Premier League table.

Despite the history between Mourinho and Chelsea, the Portuguese claims that collecting three points against a rival team is more important to him than beating a side that he used to manage.

"When you leave a club, what keeps that extra feeling of playing against your previous club is when you leave with a negative feeling or have stones in your shoes," Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

"I didn't leave with negative feelings. As a professional, I always accept decisions from the club. I gave everything I could to the club so no negative feelings. It's just a very important match because we are separated by just a few points and we have similar ambitions."

Mourinho is the most successful manager in Chelsea's history, having overseen three Premier League triumphs, an FA Cup victory and a trio of EFL Cup wins.
